The West Virginia University - Best in the State

Abbreviated as WVU, the West Virginia University is a major public research university located in the Morgantown area of West Virginia. Often called the breeding ground of the scholars of Virginia, the college has given Goldwater, Rhodes and Truman Scholars over the years.
The multi university campus accommodates the following:
West Virginia University at Parkersburg
Montgomery based West Virginia University Institute of Technology
Potomac State College of West Virginia University at Keyser
Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston
In terms of admission, the campus takes into consideration aspects like College Prep. Completion along with admission test scores like TOEFL and other similar test results.
Considered the best university of West Virginia, the campus has an admission rate of around 35% only.
In terms of ACT/SAT, the cumulative scores stand decent at 21 / 26 and 960 / 1150 respectively (both 25/75 %ile scores). The total cost of on-campus attendance is decent at around 16,000 $ approx.
Journalism, interdisciplinary studies, nursing, teaching and communication based studies are popular choice in terms of student enrollments, but the popularity changes every 5 to 10 years or so.
This primarily residential, large 4 year campus provides distance learning opportunities. It also supports PT Cost-defraying Employment facilities and the academic/career counseling and placement facilities.
Talking in terms of financial aid, the campus supports federal grants, state & local aid along with institutional grants and student loan facility is also available. But the University ranks poor in terms of the average amount of student loan.
Athletics wise, the teams from this university are called the Mountaineers who are a member of the NCAA's Division I series and compete at the Big East Conference. Football and basketball are quite popular at the campus.
