Monash University scholarships




Scholarships
Three categories of scholarships are available - those offered by Monash University, those offered by the Australian Government, and those offered by other organisations.

It is a good idea to examine all scholarships on offer in order to see what you could be eligible for.

Monash University scholarships
New international students applying directly to the University will have their course application automatically assessed for a Monash scholarship. There is no separate scholarships application.

RANZCO Study Scholarships 2010


RANZCO Study Scholarships for 2010
The College, together with industry, awards scholarships to final year trainees and to new Fellows in their first five years of Fellowship to assist them with further study. The applications for scholarships are judged against a set of criteria by a panel consisting of the College President, the Censor-in-Chief, and one other Fellow. Scholarships are announced and presented at the Annual Scientific Congress each year.


Applications are invited from Senior Trainees or Young Fellows for the following Study Scholarships to start in 2010; recipients of previous scholarships are ineligible to receive a second award.


RANZCO/Alcon Scholarship
One scholarship valued at $10,000 to enable a Trainee Associate Member to spend his/her final year of training at an overseas institution.


RANZCO/Allergan Scholarships
Two scholarships, valued at $10,000 each, are available to enable recipients to undertake further post-graduate study in ophthalmology.

RANZCO/Advanced Medical Optics Scholarship
One scholarship valued at $10,000 to enable the recipient to undertake further post-graduate studies.


RANZCO/Pfizer Scholarships
Two scholarships valued at $10,000 each to enable the recipient to undertake further post-graduate studies.

RANZCO/Device Technologies Scholarship
One scholarsip valued at $10,000 to enable the recipient to undertake further post-graduate studies

Applications for a scholarship must be no longer than 6 pages and include the following information:

1. Outline of the course of study.
2. Confirmation of acceptance by the host institute for the study.
3. A CV including qualifications and experience, relevant research and publications.
4. Expected benefits to the applicant and ophthalmology in Australia and New Zealand.
5. Written reports from two referees.

Please also include a covering letter summarising your application and indicating your contribution to the ophthalmic profession and/or society.

Field Of Study
Bachelor of Business (Majors in HRM, International Business, Marketing, Management or Tourism), Bachelor of Commerce (Majors in Accounting, Economics or Finance).

Eligibility

  1. For Malaysian students to study in Australia.
  2. Scholarship is only available for one of the following programs: Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Commerce.
  3. Student must meet (1) academic and (2) English proficiency requirements for entry into nominated program.
  4. University of Newcastle Scholarship - MACC Scholar must maintain satisfactory progress every semester for the duration of the study program.
Scholarship Value
Partial Scholarship-50% tuition fees for full duration of program (ie, maximum 3 years).The scholarship does NOT provide financial support in the form of living allowance, nor does it provide for the cost of visa application, Overseas Student health Cover (OHSC), airfares, accommodation, conferences or other costs associated with study
